Spring Moth Dilemma

Lately, I've been stumbling upon moths in the house more often than I'd like.
Back in Japan, I used to think they were harmless little bugs. I even felt a little sorry for them because, even though I knew it was impossible, they seemed like unfortunate creatures that didn't get to transform into butterflies..
However, after repeatedly witnessing the aftermath of their little ones boldly munching on our clothes, I started to doubt this coincidental coexistence.
Apparently, what I read somewhere online was true; moths aren't fans of lavender. Whenever I spray my homemade lavender spray close by, they casually fly away.
So now, part of my morning ritual involves going on a lavender-spraying spree in every room in the house. The moths may have noticed what I was up to, and they seem to have relocated their chi-lax spots to where lavender doesn't reach as much, like, high or low ends on walls.
In my quest to safeguard our wardrobe, I've also switched to lavender-scented fabric softener. Is it a fool's errand? Maybe. But in my mind, that lavender aroma is like a neon sign flashing "Keep Out" to those winged troublemakers.
Today, the usual laundry session: clothes in the machine, set to the regular cycle, with a hearty dose of Frosch lavender fabric softener.
“Please, ..My Brilliant Washing Machine, help me send those moths packing,
preferably, whimpering like a kid faced with a dinner plate piled with carrots."
